BOOK REVIEW: Face by Sam and Nic Chapman (Pixiwoo)

If you know anything about the world of beauty and make-up, you’ll be familiar with Sam and Nic Chapman, two sisters who together became YouTube stars on their channel, Pixiwoo. The Pixiwoo ladies post make-up tutorials for all ages and abilities, and are behind the amazing Real Techniques brushes.

Earlier on this year I was lucky to be sent a copy of their new book, Face, a complete guide to make up, skincare and beauty. The first thing I noticed was how stylish the book is; it’s full of stunning imagery and would look amazing on a coffee or dressing table.

On to the actual content of the book, Sam and Nic Chapman go back to basics for Face. Split into sections covering essentials from skin to lashes and brows, the beauty gurus go over everything you need to know to look your best. The book is perfect for beginners, and it would make an ideal gift for teens just starting out using make up, and any budding make-up artists.

Personally, as someone who is now in their late-twenties, most of the advice in this book is stuff that I already know, but the extra tips found throughout the book are actually really interesting and there are some I’ve never heard of before. In my opinion, this makes it suitable for intermediate beauty lovers as it’s always good to go over the basics once in a while, and if you are keen on a career in beauty, then this book is indispensable. Overall, Face is a great make-up manual, and perfect for any budding beauty-gurus!

Face is published by Blink Publishing and retails at £20.
