That’s right, move over beauty boxes, there’s a WINE SUBSCRIPTION BOX on the market. Recently I was lucky enough to be sent a sample of the Le Petit Ballon Wine Club and boy was I impressed.
Each month, Le Petit Ballon sends you two sommelier wines straight to your door, including a magazine including information about your wine and tasting notes. The idea of Le Petit Ballon is to make learning about wine fun, and affordable.
In my box I received a rose wine picked by a sommelier in Provence, the ‘splendid’ Terre de Mistral Fannette 2016, and a red wine, the ‘robust’ Domaine Jonquieres d’Oriola Galliard 2014. Both bottles were absolutely amazing – the taste was at a really high standard, and I’d definitely purchase them myself. Surprisingly, the bottles are affordable too – all of the wine can be purchased from the Le Petit Ballon online shop, and the rose I received is just £10.90 for members, proving that you don’t have to spend a fortune to find good wine, you just need someone who knows what they’re talking about to point you in the right direction!
Along with your wine selection you receive a magazine full of tips, features and ideas, including food and wine pairings which you know I love! The magazine is full of interesting features and I found it really gives the subscription box that something extra; I had great fun reading about the wine we were tasting with my husband, and we chose to match some tapas with our bottle of red. I’d also suggest inviting your friends round for a wine tasting evening but hide the magazine and pretend you know what you’re talking about!
Le Petit Ballon have blown me away with their wine club and subscription box. Everything is really well thought out and it is clear how passionate the people behind it are about wine. Whether you are interested in learning more about wine or if you’d just love having wine delivered every month (who wouldn’t, come on) then I highly recommend this box.
There are two subscriptions available: ‘Grape Expectations’ is the one I received and is £24.90 a month. The more premium subscription is ‘Age of Raisin’ and is £39.90 a month.
