Spring/Summer Style Inspiration

So, I’m writing this at 7pm and IT’S STILL LIGHT. I think this means we can officially start thinking about ensuring our wardrobes are up to date and full of light, colourful clothes perfect for BBQs, trips to the beach, cocktail sipping and, of course, the wedding season.

It’s still pretty cold up North, so most of my shopping is done through my laptop, and as I spend so much time staring dreamily at the Topshop homepage, I thought I’d compile my top picks to get you through the warmer months. Everything here is affordable, high street and available now – some is even on sale. Enjoy!

The BBQ

The BBQ look is all about comfort, ease and fun. My favorite go-to is a graphic tee that you can pair with jeans or a skirt; I absolutely love this one from Coast. It’s also all about gladiator sandals for me, currently eyeing up these F&F beauties as my current ones have seen better days.

Riki Gingham Skirt, Coast £109 // Motel Boys Lie T-Shirt, New Look £22 (now £7!) // F&F Block Heel Ghillie Sandals, Tesco £20 // Round Sunglasses, Primark £2

The Beach Trip

If you’re lucky enough to be jetting off to the beach, then Primark has pretty much got you covered this season. I’m in love with this leaf-print playsuit as seen on my all-time-favourite blogger Hannah Gale and I’m considering planning a beach holiday just so I have an excuse to wear it. Also wanna shout out to the super-cute flamingo swimsuit from Boohoo.

Plus Penny Flamingo Swimsuit, Boohoo £22 // Straw Hat, Dorothy Perkins £10 (now £7.50!) // Vacay Rose Gold Beach Bag, ASOS £15 // Bardot Beach Dress, New Look £14.99 // Printed Playsuit, Primark £8

The Wedding

Spring and Summer is wedding season, and this year there are some truly gorgeous dresses available on the high street – it’s all about individuality these days whether you’re in the bridal party or a guest, so get out of your comfort zone and try a boho-inspired dress for a dreamy take on wedding-guest attire.

Floral Ruffle Maxi Dress, Topshop £65 // Clutch bag, ASOS £25 // Rose Gold Hair Clip, Debenhams £10 (now £8) //  Ruffle Dress, Monsoon £99 (now £69)

The Festival

My favourite thing about summer time (aside from beer gardens) is that it’s also festival season! I will be attending Tramlines Festival again this year, this must be my fourth year so it’s become a bit of a tradition. Festival fashion is fun, but it’s also important to think about layers and waterproof clothing so you can carry on partying into the night while also being comfortable. I’ve recently picked up this gorgeous red waterproof jacket from Trespass, it’s perfect to bring along to festivals.

Seawater Womens Waterproof Jacket, Trespass £109.99 (now £56.99!!) // V-Neck Band Tee, Boohoo £10 // Contemporary Floral Dress, Forever 21 £19 (now £12.99) //  Black Dungaree Shorts, Misguided £30 // Sun Dial Choker, Primark £1
