“Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation. Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound” Kabir
January isn’t much fun, is it? It’s cold, we’re all skint, on diets or failing our diets, some of us have sworn off alcohol (lolz) and we are generally feeling a bit meh. January feels so long as we got paid before Christmas and the summer holidays feel SO far away. One of the things I do to cheer myself up when I’m feeling a bit blah is listen to relaxing music. It helps drown out the wind, people who talk far too loudly at work and generally makes me feel at peace again.
I’ve been listening to Ambient Zone 2 Just Music Café Vol 5 (very cool video in that link) and it’s bringing some serious chill into my life. The album is officially released on 20th January 2016, but you can also listen over on Soundcloud.
EDGE by Edgcumbes Coffee
I drink coffee every day. You know those people who say ‘but first, coffee?’ well that pretty much sums me up. Edgcumbes contacted me about their range of coffees and invited me to try a pack and naturally, I was delighted to review such a product.
I received a bag of single origin Guatemalan coffee, and it is divine. It’s a medium roast blend, with floral, citrus and hazelnut flavours and a chocolate finish. This is one of the best coffees I’ve tasted; if you’re into your coffee you should try EDGE coffee.
Getting back into exercise
I’ve been getting back into exercise after a Christmas slump and I’m feeling good!
HBO’s The Jinx
Following my serious crime-documentary addiction, I’ve started watching HBO’s The Jinx, a series focusing on New York property heir Robert Durst. If you’ve been getting into Making a Murderer and The Staircase, then The Jinx is the one you should watch next. So addictive. So shocking. So twisty. So much murder.
French Men and Cats
You heard me. French men and cats here.
