The Friday Five: 11th March 2016

Well hello! Yes, I must admit it, I have been a bit slack on the blogging side the past month.

Life happened, as it does, and things have been kind of hard lately. Nothing totally life changing, but there have been a few issues and to be honest, my mind has been elsewhere. I’m a tough cookie so I don’t like things to get me down longer than they have to and I’m feeling better, if not a bit stressed (don’t let anyone tell you planning a wedding, working full time, trying to improve your blog and do some freelance on the side isn’t stressful).

I’ve decided to do these Friday Five posts every other week from now on, so I can fit in some other posts without trying to do too much every week.

ANYWAY, enough of my life story. Here is a Friday Five post full of some great things that make me, and hopefully you, happy.

Rob Watches Movies – a film blog

My lovely fiance has re-launched his film blog and now hosts it himself. It’s called Rob Watches Movies and he reviews every film he sees, so I can guarantee the film you’re after is probably going to be there! He has great taste so if you’re looking for a film to watch, I suggest you take a look, you’ll love it. He also writes some amazing feature posts such as Ranked: Kevin Smith.

Wedding Goodies

My favourite part of wedding planning is finding loads of cute accessories to decorate the venue with! As we have a marquee it’s pretty much a blank canvas for us to work with, and there are so many lovely things you can find cheap online to make it your own. We’ve also been sampling cakes for the wedding breakfast and I’ve been making some jars for the centre pieces. You can find out how to make these here.

Best of British Soups

I’m always on the look-out for new healthy eats. I always feel so much better when I’m eating healthily and luckily I really enjoy eating my greens! I was recently contacted by Crosse & Blackwell, a British soup manufacturer to see if I wanted to try some of their Best of British soups, along with their specially made microwavable soup mug.

I received a tin of Leek & Potato and Winter Vegetable, and I’ve been trying them on my lunch break at work this week. They’re really delicious, warming and perfect for this weather (what is with this weather, March??). The soup mug is really handy too and is great for popping in your handbag.

NUXE Crème Fraiche 24hr Moisturizing Mask

NUXE Crème Fraiche 24hr Moisturizing Mask

Speaking of the awful weather, the cold and the wind is tough on our skin, so it’s important to stay moisurised. I have been using the NUXE Crème Fraiche 24hr Moisturizing Mask for an extra skin boost throughout the past couple of weeks. I was recently told my skin looks de-hydrated so along with drinking more water, I’m trying to drench myself in moisture using over-night products. NUXE is a brand I’ve really grown to love recently, their skin care products are powerful yet light and fragrant. This mask retails at £18.50 and you don’t even have to wash it off. It’s heavy enough to feel like it’s going to make a difference, but light enough that it doesn’t clog pores. I like!

Rather late Valentine’s Day Coffee

hope and glory coffee

Hope & Glory Coffee Co were lovely enough to send me some packs of coffee as a Valentine’s Day treat. As my postman is sometimes a little unreliable I didn’t get these until way after Valentine’s Day, but the sentiment is still there! This company does personalised packs of coffee – whether it’s for a holiday, birthday, or just as a present. The packs are gorgeous and the coffee is beaut.
