Travel: 72 Hours in Los Angeles


Touching down in Los Angeles is thrilling and exciting. While the airport is nothing to write home about, the places you’ll be about to see certainly are. Spend 72 hours in Los Angeles and you’ll get a real insight into how the Hollywood elite live! From cupcake ATMs to shopping on Rodeo Drive and hiking in the Hollywood Hills to celeb house spotting in Beverly Hills; Los Angeles is hip, hot and ever so cool. Before You Travel

Before you head off on your LA adventure, make sure you have applied for an official ESTA electronic visa. You’ll need this to get into the United States of America. Bear in mind also that Los Angeles is pretty spread out, and it’s definitely worth hiring a car to make the most of your time in the city. So arrange car here to pick up at the airport, before you go. And don’t forget to take your driving license with you. Go for a convertible car for the full LA experience. Also remember to pack light The shopping here is great and you’ll be bringing lots of new things home with you.

Rodeo Drive

Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills is famed for its upscale shopping. And of course that memorable scene in Pretty Woman. This palm tree lined block of three streets is jam-packed with designer boutiques and exclusive events. You’ll find everything from Louis Vuitton to Balenciaga and  Chanel to Tiffany and Co here. It’s also home to great dining and of course the legendary Beverly Hills Hotel. Be prepared to do some serious celebrity spotting here too. Be aware that most stores on Rodeo will be closed on a Sunday.

Celebrity House Tour

We don’t care if it’s cheesy! A Celebrity House Tour is a really fun trip to take when in Los Angeles. The streets in Beverly Hills are actually closed to anyone that isn’t a resident, so the only way you’re going to get a glimpse into the lives of the super rich is to drive on through. A tour will take you celebrity house spotting in both Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills.  You’ll get to drive past the mega mansions owned by celebrities such as Bruce Willis, Jennifer Lopez and Miley Cyrus. You’ll also get close to the homes of movie stars including Tom Cruise, Al Pacino and Jack Nicholson. You can see where Elvis Presley used to live, as well as Katharine Hepburn and Paris Hilton. And if you choose your tour carefully you’ll also be able to get your photo taken beneath the iconic Hollywood sign.

Universal Studios

No trip to LA is complete without a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. This film studio and theme park is a mega adventure in into the world of movies and TV. You can walk through the street that was used to film Desperate Housewives, see how Jaws was filmed and join The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You’ll go behind the scenes of real film studios and get an insight into how movies are made. You can enter the zombie world of The Walking Dead, join Minions on the Despicable Me ride and take part in an amazing Transformers 3D experience. It’s a fun day out for both kids and adults alike.

Drinks And Dinner

Of course, you’ll want to head to all the famous hotspots including The Viper Rooms, The Roxy and Chateau Marmont.  The best restaurants in LA include Spago, Rustic Canyon and Bestia. There are myriad fine dining options and lots of great late-night bars to enjoy a cocktail or two.
