In a couple of weekends I am having my biggest (and final, boo) hen do with some amazing girls both friends and family. Luckily I’ve had the help of one of my bridesmaids, so planning has been a breeze, but organising the perfect hen do, whether you’re organising it on behalf of the bride or for yourself, requires careful consideration. It needs to revolve around the bride-to- be and what she loves while also ensuring all of the attendees have a truly fabulous time too! With so many things to choose from, this can often be a difficult task, but I’m sure the guide below will provide some handy ideas.
So here we go, here are some ideas for the perfect hen do.
The Relaxing Hen Do
Does the bride-to- be work long hours, have a hectic social life and generally never stop? If she does, a relaxing weekend away may be just what she needs for her hen do, especially before the wedding! There are so many options available here, from relaxing weekends in a remote cottage with plenty of wine and games to venturing on a cultural trip to Barcelona (or Lille, like I did!). Another example of a relaxing hen do is to a spa day (one of my favourites). If you’re based in Yorkshire, I would recommend Elements MediSpa in Doncaster, I’ve been a few times and I always have a really good time there.
The Active Hen Do
If sitting around and relaxing just isn’t what the bride-to- be likes to do, it’s time to organise some mind-blowing activities for her. You’ll no doubt want to arrange something a little bit different to what everyone else does and there are plenty of options for you. For example, The Stag and Hen Experience offer everything from ABBA dancing to zorbing in the area of Bournemouth, providing you with multiple choices for the perfect active hen do. The events company even offers cheerleading and foreplay classes.. (hopefully not at the same time).
The Glamorous Hen Do
Sometimes, all a girl wants to do is get dolled up to enjoy a night out with her friends, which is fuelled with dancing, wine and lots of good food. If this sounds like the bride-to- be, organising a glamorous night out in a city could be the answer to the perfect hen do. Start the night with a fine dining experience or cocktail making session and end in an exclusive club where you can dance the night away until the early hours! Then, finish off the night with an overnight stay in a luxurious hotel.
Whatever personality the bride-to- be has, there’ll be something to suit her taste so you can give her the perfect send off! Organising friends and family to join in with the activities and choosing the perfect party games and entertainment (stripper optional!) will all add to the overall experience created. Dare to be bold and you’ll soon have a hen do that outshines all others that have gone before it!
