Weddings: Adding A Touch Of Luxury

As one of the most special days of your life, your wedding is of course something that you want to get right. But with so much to think about it, can be easy to overlook the little touches. When you’re obsessing over seating plans and working out which wedding venue to choose, the smaller things can feel like an afterthought. However, it’s these details which really make the day special. And so once you have all of the main planning done, why not look into ways to add some luxury touches to the day? Here are a few of the things you could consider.

Go For Luxury Invitations and Wedding Stationery

Your wedding invitations are the first thing your guests will see of your wedding. Luxury wedding stationery can provide a hint to your guests as to what the big day will be like. You could find something you like from a wedding stationer, or to make it even more personal have a designer create something just for you. This way you can incorporate your wedding colours and even work the flowers you will be having into the design. Make each piece of stationery something exquisite, and that way it’s something your guests will want to keep as a memory of the day. If you want to keep your invites quite simple, why not set up a wedding website? That way you can keep the information on them minimal and beautiful, but point them to the website for all of the important details.

Choose Luxurious Decorations and Flowers

Your wedding decorations are what will really bring personality to your day. Luxury decorations could include things like grand candelabras, and bird cages full of beautiful flowers. You could even add things like jewelled table numbers and place names. Have a think about the theme of your wedding- for example, are you going to go for a fairytale look, vintage or more Hollywood glamour? From there you can decide which decorations will fit the theme, and work out the best way to bring in a luxurious feel. The flowers you choose can also bring a touch of luxury your wedding. For example flowers like roses look very elegant and high end. To cut costs you could have decorations and bouquets made up that feature the luxurious flowers, then bulk them out with other beautiful yet less expensive blooms.

Make The Most Of Your Wedding Cake

A grand wedding cake with multiple tiers is always going to look stunning and luxurious. But if that’s not in your budget (or if you are having a smaller wedding) you still have options. For example, you could consider buying an inexpensive ‘dummy layer’ made out of styrofoam for the bottom of the cake. Once this has been covered in fondant it will match the rest of the cake exactly and instantly make it look bigger and more spectacular. But you get to avoid the cost of another huge layer or cake. While additional layers are great, even a standard three tiered wedding cake can really shine if it’s displayed in the right way. The trick is in the stand you choose. If you go for a stand with gaps between each tier, it will make the cake look taller. You can then fill the gaps with your wedding flowers for an ultra impressive look. Another option would be to choose a multi-tiered cake stand, but fill the bottom layers with cupcakes. These are less expensive (you could even make them yourself!) but will make the overall cake look bigger and more luxurious.

Opt For Something Different With Your Table Linens

Make the tables at your wedding reception stand out by adding quality linens to them. You could go for something in a beautiful lace, or fabrics that have been embellished. These are a great alternative to standard plain tablecloths. While a champagne toast is no longer considered a must-do at weddings, it’s a nice touch. And so a good quality bottle of fizz on the tables for guests is a bonus, and a way to bring a touch of luxury to your wedding.

Treat Your Guests With Luxurious Wedding Favours

Favours can often be a bit of an afterthought at weddings. But beautiful favours will really make your wedding stand out and be extra memorable. They’re a great way to thank your guests for coming, and to show your appreciation for them taking the time and expense to share your big day with you. Luxury wedding favours could be anything from mini bottles of champagne to candles to high-end soaps. Things like French macarons are also a good option. If you find a good baker they won’t break the bank, but will still give you that luxury touch.
