I’ve recently been introduced to the incredibly refreshing Hofmeister Beer, a traditionally brewed, 5% Bavarian Helles Lager slow brewed in Germany by a fourth generation family-owned brewery located on the edge of Ebersberger Forest in Bavaria.
Some of you might recognise the name from the 80s when Hofmeister was a 3% British brewed lager, but 13 years later the brand and the beer has been completely revamped, and the beer’s bear mascot now proudly matches its background.
Made with just hops, barley and mineral water, Hofmeister is made according to the 1516 Reinheitsgebot German Beer Purity Law, which states that only three ingredients can be used to make beer.
Perfect for the autumn season, Hofmeister is light and very drinkable. I really like it and so did all of my friends – it’s the ideal lager for a gathering or to go along with an autumnal meal.
