Wishlist: The Perfect Kit for Dinner Parties and Entertaining Friends

Now it’s getting colder (hello Autumn!) I’ve been thinking about ways to spend time with my friends indoors; I’ve recently changed jobs and I’ve been so busy I’ve not had much time to see anyone and a dinner party is long overdue! To get me in the mood, I’ve started thinking about how I could entertain friends this season, and what would be on my wishlist, including items I can afford, and some that I’ll probably have to covet from afar.

Whilst searching for this post I had a good long look at the Fishpools website and I’m really impressed with their range of dining products, I could have made a wishlist from that site alone! I chose to include the Fishpools Chateau Dining Table as it suits my tastes perfectly, it’s classy, white and has a vintage look to it that would surely impress my guests.

Food-wise, I am a big fan of Italian food and I enjoy cooking it almost as much as I enjoy eating it. I recently came across this gorgeous cook book at Waterstones, Venice Cult Recipes by Laura Zavan and it has gone straight into the list of books I NEED in my kitchen. The online image doesn’t do it justice so make sure you take a look at it the next time you’re in the shop. I’d start with some bruchette to start, and top it off with a carb-fest of pasta, with a tiramisu for dessert.

For treats I would definitely have to purchase these amazing-sounding Sea Salt Caramel Truffles, Bathtub Gin (because GIN) and my favourite red wine, the Campo Viejo Tempranillo Rioja. You can’t entertain friends without bunting and luckily I have loads left over from my wedding. Last but not least, no party at mine is complete without some games and my current favourites are Articulate and Heads Up, which is a game you can download on your smartphone. Download it, you won’t regret it! I really hope I have the chance to have some friends over for an evening of food, drinks and games soon, now I’ve got my wishlist sorted I just need the company ♥.
