The Staircase

If you’ve finished watching Making a Murderer and you’re in the mood for something similar, try The Staircase. Capturing the high-profile case of author Michael Petersen who has been charged with the murder of his wife, there are many similarities between this and Making a Murderer. I’ve watched the whole series and I’ve just started watching the sequel; it’s definitely filling my crime documentary quota!

I’m not sure what I’m going to do with my time once this ends to be honest. Maybe I’ll have to start investigating my own crimes.

Pretty Little Liars is back!

What? It’s cold, and so this week I have mainly been going to work and watching television. My life isn’t very exciting in January.

But anyway, Pretty Little Liars is finally back on our screens and I could not be happier! My favourite TV show of all time, we now come back to the girls five years after the last episode when ‘A’ and Charles’ identity was revealed.

I really enjoyed the first ‘five years later’ episode; now the actresses are actually playing their own age they appear more relaxed, more natural, and the whole show feels more grown up. The girls were in their last year of high school for about three years so it makes a refreshing change and will hopefully up the momentum now the biggest mystery of all has been revealed.

Also, Troian Bellisario is the ultimate babe.

Homemade wine

My Dad came to stay with Rob and me last weekend and it was lovely! My Dad has been making his own wine for years now so I’ve asked him to make some for my upcoming wedding this summer, and he has done me proud! He brought over some samples to try (so that’s Dry January out the window) and I spent the weekend having sips of raspberry, blackberry, elderberry and apricot wine.

I’m really impressed with how they’ve come out, but MY GOD are they strong. I’m considering writing some warning labels to go with the bottles so my guests don’t end up pissed before we’ve even done the speeches. My eye is particularly on some of you!

Booking trips and loving life

2016 looks like it’s going to be my best travelled year yet! I have SO MUCH to look forward to this year; I already know it’s going to be amazing. It very well may be my best year EVER.

One of my life goals is to travel as much as I can, abroad and within the UK. I love planning trips away and going on holiday is my favourite thing to do. I have an amazing family, wonderful friends and my a best friend for a fiancé and I love spending time with all of them. This year I am lucky enough to have trips planned to Manchester, Scarborough, Ireland (for my gorgeous friend’s wedding no less!), Leeds, Lille in France (FOR MY HEN DO!!!) and then I’m off to Rome for my honeymoon, although I’ve not got round to planning much for that yet. Anyone got any recommendations for Rome? Let me know!

Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner

I wasn’t sure about this eye-liner when I first got it as I kept accidentally twisting it too much and wasting the liner. But two months later and I am IN LOVE. This is the best eye-liner I have ever, ever used. I’ve never been the best at liquid eye-liner and I stopped wearing it for a while; I’d never usually have time to get it right bleary eyed at 7.30am before work. Then came along this beauty.

I don’t know why it works so well. It must be a combination of how the pen is designed and the creamy long-lasting texture, but it makes applying liquid eye-liner a breeze. I was lucky enough to have three sample size pens from gift sets, but now I have run out and I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and buy the full sized version. It’s a long time until pay-day though.

Food or eye-liner? Ahh, the blogger’s dilemma.

What have you loved this week? Let me know in the comments!
